Your Prime Is Now: Get the life you’ve always wanted

Picture this: You’re in the middle of a beautiful cabin in the woods. You’ve worked hard the entire quarter and provided value to many people. You’re enjoying well-deserved time off with a loved one. Perhaps a beautiful, kind, nurturing girl who’s excited to spend some quality time while you relax in peace and cook a gorgeous meal together. Fireplace roaring, a gentle snowfall outside. A nice cider or glass of wine to enjoy. You’re dressed well, in a high quality knit for the cold months, some fitted trousers, and a nice jacket and boots made of real natural materials. The intentional yet subtle outfit is flattering for your lean, chiseled and proportional body. Your skin glows. Your hair is luscious and artistically carefree. You have no aches and pains, your body feels incredibly supple and free of restrictions. Yet it feels strong, ready to attack any task that is placed on it.

You have the chiseled greek god look, but that isn’t your entire personality. You don’t make the gym and eating 6 meals a day your lifestyle. You’ve worked out two or three times this past week with great intensity. Laser-focused. Left nothing in the tank, feeling absolute tunnel-visioned during the entirety of it. You fuel yourself with true nourishment, real food, not reaching for simple fixes and convenient options that aren’t truly nourishing. As you cook a nice pot roast with your girl, full of high quality, whole food ingredients, you think about when you purchased these at a farmer’s market on your way to the cabin earlier that day. You talked to some of the farmers and felt incredibly fortunate to hear their story and how important the quality of their produce is to them. They believe in food as medicine, so want to provide the highest quality to their community. They look incredibly robust and healthy for their age and have simple, but fulfilling lives.

You play an instrument, have good humour, care for your people and are a reliable man when the situation requires it. You haven’t had to go to the doctor or take medications as long as you can remember. You don’t fall off your goals and objectives in life. You wake up excited and motivated to attack the day, accomplish tasks in a seamless manner, deal with setbacks promptly in a calm, steady manner and find peace in the ability to enjoy the ups and downs of life. You maintain strict boundaries and encourage those around you to be authentically themselves as well, finding true peace in the process. This makes you a wonderful person to be around, hence why your girl feels so happy and at peace next to you. You have a joint moment of deep gratitude for everything in life, big and small, and stare into the roaring fire as the snow settles on the majestic tress outside the window. This moment feels like bliss. In an incredibly peaceful, calm, yet present and fully immersive manner.

You’re living life. The way it was meant to be lived. In the present. This is the prime. Your prime.

Unfortunately, it’s harder and harder for most of us to experience this feeling on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. Hell, even once or twice a year is difficult for many.

It’s hard to get in shape. Be attractive and youthful in a natural, effortless way. It’s difficult to be lean and strong. To be healthy, free of the most common issues that plague most of the world. To be present, be able to give back to the community, to be fearless, steady and stoic. Sometimes it feels like the more you chase it, the harder it runs away from you. Then comes the frustration, the irritation, the anger and a plethora of negativity that FURTHER makes that goal seemingly impossible to achieve.

But back again to the picture painted earlier…..that didn’t happen by accident, neither did it happen by obsessing over the goal and brute forcing it in an impatient, bulldozing manner. It happened through mastering the little things over a longer span of time, getting locked into a minimalist, yet effective flow, cutting out the fluff and deadweight, confronting oneself and one’s inner negative voices that can offset even the most colossal of efforts. And then learning to enjoy the journey. Enjoying the efforts, the small wins, the daily tasks, the so-called “mundane” efforts.

And it becomes effortless…..then one can really start to see life for what it is. The current moment. The present. The now.

I sincerely think that any of us can get there, no matter what the current state or starting point. We’re lucky to be at a place where we have the tools, the experiences and teachings of many people with more wisdom and knowledge than us. I’ve spent many years collecting and refining many of these tools and modalities while working with hundreds of people to get their fitness, health and well-being dialled in. But it starts with the intentional choice to really optimise for that life you want to live and be willing to strategically cut away the obstacles that lie in the way. Then you can enjoy the life you’ve always wanted. Your Prime.

It isn’t at age 20, or 25, or when you have your first house, or xyz material item, or a partner with xyz qualities. Or when you retire, or when you finally go on holiday. That’s all irrelevant in isolation, and will never give you the feeling of true happiness we talked about above.
